Catalog: Sequinned Surfaces: Vodoun Flags from Haiti (1991)

SKU: B0156

This rare, out-of-print catalog is from a show that began in California and travelled in 1992 to the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, Tennessee. Five pages are each devoted to a separate image of an exceptionally beautiful Vodou flag from the private collection of Candice Russell, allowing for close study of these religious textiles. A substantive essay by show curator Dr. Dolores Yonker, notes from collector Russell, a list of books for further research, and a photo of master Vodou flag maker Clotaire Bazile establish this catalog as a keeper.
