Sequins and beads sewn on satin
Governor of the sea and the people who swim, fish and traverse it, Agoue is symbolized by a boat. Bazile wisely chooses a lovely turquoise satin to represent the waters surrounding Haiti, which shares the island land mass with the Dominican Republic. The wife of Agoue is La Sirene, the mermaid, or the siren of the sea. These benevolent spirits are protectors.
